Our  Mission

 TO SUPPORT A PROPERTY TAX REFORM CONVENTION

 
Who we are

• We are an independent citizen group concerned with the ever-increasing property taxes in New Jersey and its crippling effects on millions of homeowners in the state.

• We believe a property tax reform convention, which allows the people to propose a fair and equitable property tax system, is the manifestation of the sovereign power of the citizens as provided for in the Constitution of the State of New Jersey.

• We believe democracy is at its best when the largest number of voices is heard.

• We support the idea of a property tax reform convention to address the problem of burdensome property taxes and we propose to act to ensure that such a convention will be held as soon as possible.
  

Who we are not

•  We do not represent any political party.

• We are not against education, teachers or school boards. In fact, we believe that the opportunities of tomorrow will be created in our classrooms and science labs.

• We do not wish to preempt the will of the people of New Jersey by proposing an alternative taxing system to fund our schools. We want the people to make that choice through the proposed property tax reform convention.
